Boating card
Since September 15th, 2009, everyone who operates a motorized pleasure craft must carry proof of competency on board at all times.
Proof of competency is not required for pleasure crafts without motors!

The proof of competency can take one of three different forms:
- A pleasure craft operator card
- A certificate that states you have successfully completed a boating safety course in Canada
before April 1, 1999 - A Boat Rental Safety checklist is also valid proof of competency in the case a person is renting a boat from a rental agency and does not have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card or other recognized certificate
These regulations include persons operating Argos/ Personal Water Craft/ Canoes and dinghies fitted with a motor.
Contact Captain Wayne's and take a course!
Please note that you may also pick up your copy of "Better Boating Watercraft Safety Manual" and or challenge the exam any time by contacting Captain Wayne's.
After successfully completing the exam your temporary card will be issued immediately and your official card will be mailed to you promptly!

Cards do not last forever and will wear and crack over time - extra cards are now available.
Photocopies of your Operator Card are not considered to be legal proof of competency.
Fines start at $250 and up!
Reasons for extra cards:
